Practical info

Waiting time
You are welcome to apply for psychotherapy at Panamalaan (Amsterdam east). Meanwhile, our private practice at Eikenplein (also in east) is being renovated. The estimated start date of treatments at this location is at the end of 2026.

Cancel an appointment
If you cannot attend our appointment, you can inform me in person or by e-mail as far in advance as possible. Clearly state the date of the appointment and the time in your e-mail. Don’t forget any holidays and other (care) appointments that are already planned in your calendar.

If you do not cancel an appointment or do not cancel it in time (<24h), I will charge you for part of the costs. You will receive a separate invoice, which is not reimbursed by health insurance. The rate is € 80 for a treatment session and € 90 for an intake/diagnostic session.

Quality and ethics
My practice is connected to the organization for independent psychotherapy practices in the Netherlands, the LVVP, and is audited every five years on the basis of the LVVP quality criteria.

As a BIG registered psychotherapist, I have an hour criterion and I am bound by the code of ethics for psychotherapists (see here).

Since 2017, every practice has been obliged to describe their procedures in practice and who bears what responsibility. You can view my approved statute of quality here.

Privacy
In order for you to submit the invoice to your health insurance, it is necessary that I include the diagnosis and a code that indicates the type of care provided. If you object to this information being shared, you can ask me for a form in which you specifically state not to agree with this.

As of 2018, every practice has an obligation to describe how they use your personal information. You can find my privacy statement here.

Complaint procedure
If you have a complaint, it is best to adress this with me as soon as possible. Misunderstandings can usually be solved together in a conversation. If it is not possible to reach a solution together, you can contact a mediator from the Regional Association for Independent Psychologists and Psychotherapists (RVVP). The mediator has a duty of confidentiality and can facilitate a conversation between us.

If mediation does not offer a solution for the problems that have arisen, it is possible to submit a complaint to the independent complaints committee of the Landelijke Vereniging voor Vrijgevestigde Psychotherapeuten (LVVP). The complaints committee makes rulings and recommendations, but does not take disciplinary measures. For more information you can have a look at the LVVP website.
