I am a psychologist (MSc) and BIG registered psychotherapist with a private practice in Amsterdam.
In 2018 I obtained my master’s degree in psychology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, which was focused on human biology and neuroscience. I minored in philosophy and ethics, law and criminalistics, creative writing and I was a student mentor for freshmen. My previous workplaces include the public health service, psychiatric departments for elderly and the police force.
During my postmaster in psychotherapy, I worked at a mental health care institution in Amsterdam for a few years, where I treated (young) adult clients with problems ranging from mild to more complex and personality disorders. Mainly individually but also in groups. I have a structural diagnostic perspective, rarely use labels and have an eye for the social and societal context in which psychological issues have developed.
You can contact me for individual psychotherapy, but also consultation or advice if you are considering entering the field of psychology. We can work together for a single session, a number of them or for an extended period. I have a co-therapist with whom I provide couples therapy and group psychotherapy.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is most in line with my thinking and working methods and I have a client centered approach. Where possible and fitting, I encourage clients to express themselves creatively.
