Procedure

I mainly work face to face, but online treatment is possible in agreement

Step 1: Introduction via telephone
You can contact me by e-mail to schedule a short introduction over the telephone. Based on this conversation, we can determine whether or not to proceed with an intake at my practice. Other ways of initial contact are also an option if for instance you feel too anxious about phone calls or would rather meet in person first.

Stap 2: Intake phase
The intake phase is intended to map out where you stand at the moment, what events have led you here and where you intend to go. Usually this entails three 45 minute sessions. However, it also happens that more time is needed or that the use of psychological testing is indicated.

Step 3: Decision
If we both have a clear idea about what we will be working on and have a good feeling about the collaboration, we will proceed with treatment. Should we decide not to move foward together I will help you look for alternatives.

Step 4: Establishing a treatment framework
Based on the information from the intake phase we will formulate your treatment goals and frame them within a treatment plan.

Step 5: Treatment phase
The treatment phase usually consists of weekly sessions at a fixed time. Depending on your situation this can also be more often or once every two weeks. We will regularly discuss how the treatment is going and reflect on your treatment goals to determine if we are on the right path.

Step 6: End of treatment
In every treatment the time will come to go our seperate ways. We will shape the end of treatment together and make arrangements for aftercare and follow-up steps if needed.
